Make sure you have shut off the water to the appliance – If your water heater gets any brokagie at the time it was in use then try to shut off the water heater staying about two feet away from the heater. Drain the water heater – It is good to drain the valve at the bottom of the water heater. It is good idea to screw your garden house to the drain valve, and pull it outside to a location where you can let water drain. You need not worry about hurt of the glass. It is also necessary sometimes to clear the drain valves. You need to locate the temperature pressure manually after this. This help in forcing air into the water heater and leave it to drain. Make sure to disconnect the old water heater – Make sure you have located the unions on the hot and cold inlet to the water heater. You as well need to untie the unions with two pipes jerk. Try to disconnect the union too. You can disconnect the vent by unscrewing the three sheet metal screws from the draft diverter dead center on top of the waterheater.
